Destiny is more choice than chance... you may think you are powerless to control what happens to you in life, but nothing could be further from the truth. Possibilities always exist, and your choices will be limited only by where you choose to look for them. If you look down... hanging your head in defeat or despair, all you will see are your own two feet firmly entrenched in the place you occupy at this particular moment in your life. It is a restricted view, and minor cracks and flaws become major considerations and will slow you down as you become more and more focused on this very small space in a very small world. If you look out... the path you are traveling takes on a new perspective. Perhaps you will see where it is heading, and you can choose whether or not to continue. Perhaps you will see other paths not far in the distance you might wish to try. Perhaps you will decide to break away and create a new path of your own. The horizon is expanded mightily when you look out. If you look up... the world suddenly appears limitless. The vast openness suggests infinite possibilities and removes boundaries from your vision. With no boundaries, you are free to explore options you might never have considered before. There is freedom in this expanded universe that will let you stretch and grow and explore your maximum potential. Look out, look up, unlock your heart and mind, and you will be amazed at what happens.

Down the road of life you must follow your heart. Keep your dreams in front of you. Know the direction you are going. Learn to notice the signs along the way. If you always know who you are and where you are heading, a wrong turn or bumpy road or two won't slow you down long. Accept your mistakes and learn from them. No matter how many curves a winding road might throw at you, if you keep your road map in front of you, you will eventually arrive at your destination. Proceed with caution. Do not be distracted by onlookers and tailgaters. You are in the driver's seat. Only you know where to go to be happy. If you hitch a ride with someone else, you may arrive at his destination, instead of your own. Travel the open road at your own speed. If you need direction, be careful that those pointing the way do not have selfish motives. Beware of one-way streets. Do not fret if those who could point the way have lost their pointing fingers. If detours arise, take an alternate route. Do not yield when charting unfamiliar territory. It could lead to your destiny. Take life's highway, don't miss your exit, and be sure the parking space you select feels like home.

There is sometimes a feeling of emptiness inside when I think of you Not because I do not know of your love But because we are far away from each other And I cannot share so much of my life with you. So as the stars fill an empty sky... I fill my emptiness with memories Remembrances of the moments when we shared each other's day, And we were near enough that we were assured to see each other often, if simply to share a smile. I miss those moments and I miss you. I think that is why God gave us memories -- to brighten up the sky when all the stars are away.

It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't biological. I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself. I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief. I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. I've learned that sometimes you have to put the individual ahead of their actions. I've learned that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change. I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different. I've learned that no matter the consequences, those who are honest with themselves get farther in life. I've learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you. I've learned that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help. I've learned that writing, as well as talking, can ease emotional pains. I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel. I've learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you. I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences. I've learned that there are people who love you dearly, but just don't know how to show it. I've learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
